WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN EXPECTING A LANGBEEN HOME

Building a home from the ground up is a significant undertaking involving many steps and important decisions. No matter if this is the first home you’re building or the fifth, the process can become quickly overwhelming when not in the hands of experienced builders and realtors. At Langbeen Builders, we work diligently to make the home building process as simple and enjoyable as possible.

Typically, this starts with a preliminary meeting where we work with you to establish rough expectations for a floor plan, your budget and to set ballpark expectations for the amount of time the project will take. From here, we usually encourage the prospective homeowners to join one of our team members in walking the lots we have for sale and visiting one of our spec homes (should one be open) to see our standard finishes and exceptional quality of work. Once a lot and plan has been agreed upon and you are ready to move forward, we will furnish a proposal for your (and your realtor’s) review.

This proposal will typically include any major changes with the building plan, all facilitated through our building expert, Scott Langbeen, who will help make this process clear and understandable. Scott’s years of experience allow him to see potential issues with planning before they arise and ensure that any work that Langbeen Builders agrees to will be delivered at the highest quality. Once the proposal is accepted and a contract has been signed, the work of deciding the specifications and selections begin.

This stage involves working closely with Luke Langbeen and Zach Ackerman who are able to guide you through everything from shingles and doorknobs to kitchen countertops and wall colors.  This process is fluid, as decisions will need to be made throughout the building process at different stages. We make these options clear with communication through our client portal where you can see impending design decisions as well as the selections and budget allowance. Finally, when the home is complete, the entire Langbeen team as well as your realtor will walk the newly built home where Scott will explain the functionality of the home and address any questions you may have. A few days after that, it’ll be time to move in and celebrate your accomplishment!
